Urgent Referrals: Hepatology, pre- and post-transplant patients

Where immediate advice is required, please call St James's switchboard on 0113 243 3144 and ask to be connected to the on-call hepatology doctor.

For all other referrals we are now using an electronic referral pathway (Please note that this system is only accessible from computers on the NHS N3/HSCN network).

Urgent Referrals: Hepatobiliary Surgery

Please contact St James's switchboard on 0113 243 3144 and ask to be connected to the on-call hepatobiliary surgery registrar.

Referrals for Liver Transplant Assessment

For review in the transplant pre-assessment clinic, please send a written referral. The referral proforma below can be used if desired, though this is not essential.

Where urgent advice is required or transfer for in-patient assessment might be necessary, please contact the on call hepatologist as for urgent referrals above.

Routine Referrals

Please write to any of the hepatologists or hepatobiliary surgeons (as appropriate) at St James's University Hospital, Leeds, LS9 7TF.
